Pretty sure you push the left and right sticks up/left and up/right respectively and simultaneously with the quad sitting on a level surface.

Pretty sure if you follow the quick start steps in the app you will reset/calibrate the gyros. I follow those steps every time I fly it, and have never had a problem.

Promark sent me a new battery got it Christmas eve, yesterday when I went to use it I discovered the controller needed to be charged, attempted to charge it the red light comes on indicating its charging after some time the light turns green but when its turned on indicates battery is to low and needs charging want communicate with drone and the app shows the battery on the last bar. not sure if its the battery (its built in) or the controller. Looking forward to a little more time with mine in the air. I had one run away incident where it seemed to lose communication and drove itself into the ground from a significant height. It shattered the landing gear and knocked the camera out of the holder. With the supplied replacement gear, I was able to get it all back together and flying again (happy about that).
My question to the group is regarding the possibilities for making minor modifications and making this as good as it can be. I have no experience with the new RC tech. I'm curious whether this set could be improved with a better antenna on the controller for example, or any other "low hanging fruit" (camera?). It seems most of the customizable drone market is for the ~5" variety and so it seems in hindsight that this is a unusual bird at 9.5", true?

It is possible to point the camera straight down?? I haven't been able to get enough air time to try everything out (not enough daylight to fly by the time I get home from work).

I recently got a shadow drone and right out of the box I can't get the controller to turn on. If I plug it in it'll show a red battery icon like its charging, then shortly after it will turn green like it's fully charged but still will not power on. Any suggestions on how to fix this?

I bought one of these promark shadow drones for my husband for Xmas. He was having a blast with it. On his 5th or so flight the thing just suddenly lost power and crashed from about 20 yards up to the ground. The battery still had 3 bars and the remote was also still fully charged. Now when he turns the thing on the lights pulse slowly when he connects the remote to it the lights dont change and it wont trim. There is no reset button anywhere.... Do we just return it as a defective model? Can someone please give me advice

Can the Shadow be flown without an I phone? I have one but do not own an I phone, will it initialize without the app?

Thanks

It should be able to, I think my son has flown it without a phone connected. Just need to calibrate per the manual.

Thanks for the reply, unfortunately mine will not even bind or initialize so no flying. I thought it was too good a deal for $179

Wait... are you saying it doesn't have a Android App AND a iOS App? Trying to figure out what the issue is. If it only has iOS and you knew you didn't have one why is that too good to be true, knowing that you didn't have a Apple product? If you have no smart phone again, that is up to you to do research before spending your hard earned money. Not trying to be a bummer here, but...just saying.... don't care if something cost $1 or a $1000, know what it is your buying is something people seem to have lost. If Anything just take it back, no harm, no foul. Hope it works out for you perhaps it's one of those funky aircraft that has to be initialized first with a App, but will fly fine after that in a manual mode. IF so you have to know someone that has the device to get over that obstacle Promark GPS Shadow Drone - Page 3 (2)

The quick start guide in the manual does not state you have to run the app to initialize and fly it. It probably needs some type of re-set sequence run, I have connection to the camera gimble and it moves, the flight system will just not initialize, and give the correct indicator lights. I'm thinking it's defective or there is another restore process to run? I know a $179 drone will not be as good as a $600 unit, I wanted to use this one to get some flight time in to get practice time flying. UPDATE: I found info on this drone under a different name, HOLYSTONE it must be imported to a few sellers. The start up procedure is slightly different and actually worked on my Promark version. They also give a lot more instruction on the transmitter functions as well.

Is there any way to return the drone to factory settings?? I've had this thing for a week now and have yet to get it to fly. At takeoff, the drone begins turning in a slow circle and won't respond to commands from the remote. After a few minutes, the lazy spinning become more erratic and the only way to land it is to hit "Emergency Stop'. I had a guy out at my flying field who owns a pair of Phantom drones take a look at it and he couldn't get it to fly either, so he suggested i try to reset it to factory settings, but there's nothing in the manual about how to do that.

I'm beginning to think this drone is a lemon.

I went to their website and tried to access the instructions AND the FAQ and nothing came up. Looks like they're just as reliable as Promark
