Overwatch 2 players are already looking ahead to Season 11 after Season 10 introduced Venture and the new Mythic Shop. As is the case with every major update, it’s expected to deliver a ton of fresh content to get stuck into, some of which has already been announced.

So, here’s everything we know about Overwatch 2 Season 11 so far, including the release date.

  • Overwatch 2 Season 11 release date
  • Overwatch 2 Season 11 theme leaked
  • Is there a new Hero in Overwatch 2 Season 11?
  • Overwatch 2 Season 11 new map and changes
  • Overwatch 2 Season 11 Hero changes
  • Overwatch 2 Season 11 expected content

Overwatch 2 Season 11 release date

Overwatch 2 Season 11 is currently due to begin on Thursday, June 20, 2024, as this is when the Season 10 Battle Pass timer expires. However, this would break the tradition of new seasons beginning on a Tuesday, so we expect this to be moved to either June 18 or June 25 in the future.

Of course, it’s possible that the devs are mixing things up with Season 11, so we’ll be sure to update this page with any announcements either way.

Overwatch 2 Season 11 theme leaked

Overwatch 2 Season 11 will reportedly have a ‘monster’ theme, based on skins uncovered by dataminers. Leakers found new skins for Lucio, Zenyatta, and Roadhog, all of which were based on different mythical beasts, such as a Kaiju.

Each new OW season features a distinct theme that ties into the title and overall vibe of the Battle Pass, but we’ll have to wait for an official announcement to see exactly what the focus will be.

Is there a new Hero in Overwatch 2 Season 11?

No, there will not be a new Hero released in Overwatch 2 Season 11. Blizzard have committed to releasing new characters every two seasons, and after Venture arrived last time around, Season 11 will instead introduce a new map.

This means that the next new Hero will drop in Season 12 – the Support codenamed “Space Ranger” who was revealed back at Blizzcon 2023.

Overwatch 2 Season 11 new map and changes

Overwatch 2 Season 11 will bring a brand-new Push map called Runasapi, set in the titular Previvian city. It was revealed in a Developer Update back in March and is tied to Illari’s backstory, as the Support Hero is a member of the Inti Warriors that guarded the area.

On top of this, fellow Push map Colosseo will be given an overhaul, but details on what the changes will be are yet to be revealed.

Overwatch 2 Season 11 Hero changes & future updates

Cassidy Reaper, and Lifeweaver are among the Overwatch 2 Heroes who may see some changes and buffs in Season 11 and future patches.

In the AMA hosted on the Competitive Overwatch Reddit, the devs revealed that they’re looking at reworks for Cassidy and Reaper, while considering some buffs for Lifeweaver and Mercy in future updates.

Cassidy

In Season 11, Cassidy is getting a rework to his Magnetic Grenade that will be closer to his old Flashbang. Essentially, the Magnetic Grenade will no longer have homing to the target, and will only really be used in short range.

“We think that plays a lot better with his kit and removes some of the larger frustrations around Magnetic Grenade,” Lead Hero Designer at Overwatch 2, Alec Dawson, said.

Reaper

Reaper, on the other hand, will be getting an update to his Shadow Step. Dawson mentioned that they have an idea, but it’s technically challenging and the update may only come in future seasons. In the meantime, though, they are planning to buff Reaper in “non-Tank busting ways.”

Lifeweaver

There is no timeline on Lifeweaver changes at the moment, but Dawson specified that they have been looking into making changes to his Petal Platform and making the switch from healing to damage smoother.

“One of the discussions we are having right now (actually this week) and have been having for a while is around the friction that comes with switching between his healing and damage,” Dawson said. “Giving him more flexibility here would be a great boon to his capability within team fights.”

Other changes

Aside from Lifeweaver, Reaper, and Cassidy changes, the devs also mentioned that they are planning to adjust Health Pools for more evasive or high damage Heroes to bring back one-shot capabilities with Hanzo.

They are also having a look at Mercy, who remains strong in the meta. “There are some questions of how far we can push her movement and know that is one of the most requested changes,” Dawson said.

Lastly, Symmetra is also being looked at to have a stronger frontline presence. The devs said that they’re either going to buff her survivability or make changes to her beam damage, but not much else has been confirmed.

Overwatch 2 Season 11 expected content

With this in mind, here’s everything we expect to see in Overwatch 2 Season 11:

  • New Battle Pass
